CM Volunteers Needed
Children's Ministries Fall Needs
  • We need substitutes for our Sunday Worship Volunteers. We need substitutes from infant all the way to 5th grade. Please contact Abby Mitzelfelt if you'd like to help! 
  • Parents, of children in preschool and under, please make sure to check the sign-up sheet outside of your child's class for a chance to volunteer as a parent helper one or two Sundays this year.

Small Groups
Have you been searching for a way to get connected at The Chapel? Are you looking to grow your relationship with Christ and other Christians? Then you need to be in a Chapel Small Group! Chapel Small Groups can meet at any time, and while we do have a few mid-week groups, most meet on Sunday afternoons or evenings. The average group meets for two hours and consists of 10 to 12 people. A typical Small Group meeting includes Bible study, prayer, fellowship and food!  Click here to learn more and sign up.
 
Griefshare
GriefShare

Mondays from 6:00–8:00 p.m. 
The finality of death is hard to accept and that’s what GriefShare is all about. It is a 13-week seminar and support group for anyone who has gone through the loss of a loved one. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. Cost is $15 for seminar materials. Click here to learn more and register.

Upcoming Mission Projects
Hurricane Harvey Relief Trip
Application Deadline: Sunday, September 30

We are sending a team of up to 20 people to serve with ReachGlobal Crisis Response as the long-term recovery efforts from Hurrican Harvey continues. People with construction or mechanical skills are welcome, as are those who don't have those skills but are willing to serve in construction and clean-up efforts or as compassionate caregivers to people who have suffered through this crisis. Contact Jeff Templeton to learn more or complete an application and turn into the church office.

Friday Morning Bible Studies

Fridays beginning September 21 from 9:15–11:30 a.m.
Ladies, please join us for our Fall Women's Bible Studies. First we will gather as a large group to have our hearts and minds drawn to Jesus. Then we will spend the rest of the time in small groups studying, discussing God's word, sharing prayer needs, and praying together. Childcare from birth to six years with age-appropriate programming is available. Christianity is not a solo sport, it’s a team sport. So, we need other men to help us be all that God created us to be. And that’s where Roundtable Groups come in. Senior Bible Study—The Greatest Hits of the Psalter
Thursday, October 11 from 10:00–11:30 a.m. at 
the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center
There is a Psalm in the Bible for every occasion—whether triumph or defeat, excitement or depression, joy or sorrow, praise or penitence, wonder or anger. Join us for an in-depth exploration of the greatest hits of the Psalter! We will explore the artistic organization of the book, learn to appreciate the form of poetry found in the Psalter, and most importantly, learn to pray the psalms as sheet music for the soul.  
 
Seniors Museum Tour
Billy Graham Museum Center Tour
Thursday, October 18 
at 9:00 a.m. in Wheaton, Illinois (meet at The Chapel)
Come along as we travel by charter to the Billy Graham Center Museum in Wheaton, Illinois.  You will learn about Billy Graham’s life, stand behind Billy Graham’s traveling pulpit and read from his Bible and sermon notes.  After touring the museum, we will enjoy lunch before heading back home. Ignite is for those high school students who want to go deeper into their faith and work at applying God’s truths to their lives. If you want to explore the Christian faith in a deeper, more personal way and get to know some other Christians who can help you, this is a great place to check out. We aren’t perfect, but we do our best to show you how much God cares about you by trying to be the friendliest place in Berrien County for high school students.

Wednesdays at 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Student Ministries Room
The middle school years are some of the most difficult and exciting years of our lives. At Edge, students will learn about scripture and the impact it has on our daily lives, as well as have the opportunity to get to know God on a personal level. Of course there will also be worship, food, games, and small group study time. We hope to see you at Edge!
 
Jumpstart Middle School Retreat
October 5–7 at Timber-lee

This fall we’re headed to Timber-Lee Camp in East Troy, WI. Come spend time deepening your relationships with one another, and with our great God! What Kids Are Learning This Week

This week we'll be learning about Adam and Eve and how sin entered the world. All people are sinners and our sin is what separates us from God, but God still loves us. God promised a Rescuer would come from Eve’s family and He sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue people from sin and bring them back to God.

You're invited to Awana! Come and learn about the awesome things we get to do at Awana and register your kids (K–5) for this upcoming club.

Mondays and/or Thursdays, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. 
All Chapel families are welcome to come and to invite their friends to our open play groups. Grab a cup of coffee, a snack, and your kids and meet in Park Place. Enjoy adult conversation and fellowship in a safe, clean environment while your kids make new friends and learn through free play. Children must be supervised by parents/guardian with a limit of 20 children on the play structure at one time and children must wear socks. Looking forward to all the fun!
