We are stepping into a new sermon series, studying the Apostle Peter’s first letter. His audience—believers who have been living in Asia Minor or present day Turkey. These believers are undergoing great suffering and persecution for the name of Jesus. In this wonderful letter, Peter encourages and reminds them of what is theirs in Christ. He tells them about the value of suffering, why they are suffering for their faith. So how will we live? Peter calls us to stand up for Christ in our world, not to be afraid but willing to follow our Lord no matter the cost. Click here to read more.
Do you have control of the technology that you use at work and at home, or does it have control over you? Teacher Kirk Dunsbergen will show us what the Bible has to say about the use of technology and how to keep it from becoming a "god." This week in Big House, elementary kids in both hours are learning about the letter that Peter wrote to his fellow believers. In 2 Peter, we see Peter’s warning about false teachers who will try to lead believers away from Jesus. He told them to turn to the Scriptures to know how to live for Christ until the day He returns. We are called to live holy lives by the power of the Holy Spirit and live in a way that honors and glorifies God.
Prayer Request: Pray for kids to understand that God calls us to use our time on earth as an opportunity to better know and love Him, and to tell others about Him.
