What is it?
A rare opportunity for Dads to spend some quality fun time camping out overnight with their kids, as well as to get to know some of the other Dads at the Chapel.
Chapel Dads and their K – 5th grade children. Kids can invite friends if they wish and Dads can invite other Dads to participate with their kids.
When and where is it?
Friday night, July 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Five Pines Ministries. The campout ends after breakfast Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
What will we be doing?
After setting up camp, traditional camping-type snacks will be provided. Following will be some fun games to help campers get to know each other a little better. But mostly, it’s a lot of free time to socialize and make up your own games (feel free to bring your own frisbees, footballs, etc.). And of course, what camping trip would be complete without s’mores around the campfire? Breakfast will be served in the morning before campers depart.
What do I need to bring?
Any tent camping items you may have – tents, lawn chairs, sleeping bags, roasting sticks, etc. If you don’t have specific items and don’t know where to borrow them, we’ll have some extras on hand. Just let us know ahead of time what you need. Also, only Saturday breakfast (and s’mores) will be provided, so if you’re a midnight snack junkie, please bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Note: For safety, please leave squirt guns, Super Soakers, fireworks, blow darts, attack dogs, throwing stars, nunchucks or anything potentially dangerous (or excessively aggravating to other campers) at home. Also, please keep your camping items relatively simple, i.e.: no trailers, ATVs, backhoes, generators, mules, nautilus machines or other large outdoor equipment.
