Sunday morning children's ministry includes infants through 5th grade during both hours. Lessons are taught from The Gospel Project curriculum beginning at age one. Beka Dougherty is our early childhood director for infants-preschool, and Joy Stemm is our elementary director for kids in kindergarten-5th grade.
Once your child is in 3rd grade, we encourage you to worship together as a family. You have the option of attending an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) class while your child attends Sunday School then worshiping together, or you can worship first then attend your classes second hour. We provide options so you have the flexibility to make the best decision that fits your family.
Elementary kids (k-5th grade) are combined June, July, and August for our summer program called Big House. In Big House, all children are taught the lesson at the same time before breaking into groups. Each group then moves through different activity centers that reinforce the lesson. This provides a fun change of pace while allowing our elementary teachers to take the summer off for refreshment.
All of our classes are led by at least two screened adults. Our early childhood classes also have teen helper, and we have a secure check-in and check-out system in place. You can feel comfortable attending one of our ABF classes while your child attends Sunday School.
Please note that if you have children in elementary school AND in grades 6-12, the middle school and high school classes meet ONLY during the 9:00 am hour. The middle school classes ("Illuminate" grades 6-8) meet in Room 132/135 and the high school class ("Fusion" grades 9-12) meets in the Student Ministries Room (137).
We use The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum. The Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story of God's plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it's our story, too.
