Kent is a 1990 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, where he earned a B.A. degree in Music Education. Prior to entering full-time music ministry, Kent taught middle school and high school band and choir in three different public school systems in Illinois. He served as Associate Director of Worship and Fine Arts at Parma Heights Baptist Church in suburban Cleveland, Ohio for 4 years before being called to the Chapel in July 2002. Kent's wife, Susan, has taught Middle and High School English for the past 23 years and currently teaches at St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph and is also an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Wades have two children, Andrew and Michaela.

I have travelled to…lots of places, including Chicago, St. Louis, New York City, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Orlando, San Diego, Boston, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone Nat’l Park, Canada, Mexico, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Romania, and Israel, among other places.
Biggest challenge…raising teenagers.
What’s on my bookshelf...music, books, CDs, DVDs, speakers, and various other knick knacks (that all probably need dusting).
