Born and raised in Iowa, Jana graduated from Central College in Pella, IA, with a degree in Business Management and minor in Communications. She and her husband, Kirk, have three teenage children (Lydia, Kaleb, Micah). They moved to Arkansas in 2005 and to Michigan in 2006. They began attending The Chapel because Jana was looking for an AWANA program for the kids. Once here, they began attending the Pathfinders ABF and "found our place to belong"!

Favorite Bible Character…that's a tough one, but probably Mary and Martha because I need a good balance of both of them.

I was born…yes... according to my kids, it was "ice ages" ago!

Life Verse…so many to choose from, but Phil 4:6-7 has helped me through many situations. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I have traveled to…all 50 states and many countries, including Romania with The Chapel in 2014.

Biggest pet peeve…I have a few...shh! The middle school parking lot and drivers that don't or can't follow directions.

What's on my bookshelf…books! and some dust...mostly Karen Kingsbury books.

My ideal vacation…somewhere that is sunny, has a beach, I don't have to cook or plan the meal, and my family is with me.

My favorite pastime…reading, especially if its on a beach!

Likes…dark chocolate, beach, reading, dark chocolate, traveling, baking, spending time with family, dark chocolate, and attending my kids choir and band concerts and activities.

My last meal would be…an Iowa Pork Chop (the really thick ones!), Iowa sweet corn on the cob, my Grandma's potato salad, and chocolate toffee pie with a meringue crust!

My idea of a perfect day…to sleep in, have quiet time, go to the beach with friends and/or family and a good book, dinner out with my family, and then a walk on the pier at sunset with my hubby!

If I had a different job…I wouldn't have this privilege of working with this wonderful staff that each have servant hearts and a desire to share the gospel and grow committed followers of Christ.

Nobody knows that…I like to make cheesecake (when I have time, of course)...well, a few of my guinea pigs know!

My childhood ambition was…to be a mommy!

Transforming experience…attending a Bible camp in northern California when I was in high school. Also becoming a wife and then a mother!
