Carol is honored to work/serve here at The Chapel and is excited to see MyPlace being more fully understood and utilized by everyone! Carol is a lifelong resident of Berrien County, and graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's in computer science. After working several years as a computer programmer/analyst, she chose a completely different career path when she started her business, Gift Basket Classics, where she designed and marketed gourmet food gift baskets and boxes. After 27 years, she knew that the Lord had different plans for her, and the business closed December 31, 2017. For the past two and half years, she has also held a part-time position with Wolf’s Marine in Benton Harbor where she was updating and maintaining their online store with its more than 3,000 products.
Life verse…“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:8–10 (NLT)
Likes...Good coffee, good food, good conversation, caring friends, warm (but not hot and humid) summer days, colorful autumn days, watching storms moving in over Lake Michigan, the sound of the different calls of birds, and Michigan history.
My ideal vacation would be…a week of warm days in a simple but nice rented house in the back woods up north, with a screened-in porch where I can put my feet up, sip a cold drink, and read a good book in the afternoon—without mosquitoes. It would be quiet except for the sound of nature. We’d also read about the area’s history and explore it, swim, kayak, bird watch, and stargaze.
Nobody knows…(well, maybe a few do) that I was a contestant on the game show “The Price Is Right” in 1995 where I won two sets of golf clubs…and a car!
